Amanda Karras  Simmons
FC3​ ​Simmons,​ ​Amanda​ ​Karras,​ ​USN​, 31, of Rock Hill, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017. She was born May 1, 1986 in Charlotte, NC.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Garland B. and Jeanette Simmons and maternal grandparents, Vernon and Mary Jane Bauknecht.

Amanda proudly served her country in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer, Third Class Fire Controlman assigned to the USS George H.W. Bush. She was a proud graduate of Clemson University in 2010 and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Prior to enlisting in the Navy, Amanda was a high school science teacher at Whale Branch High School in Seabrook, SC. She had a beautiful heart, adored her nephews, developed many close friends throughout her military service and will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Garland B. “Gary” and Rita Simmons of Rock Hill; brother, Travis C. Simmons and wife, Aleida of Miami, FL; nephews, Triston and Jaxon Simmons; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The​ ​family​ ​will​ ​receive​ ​friends​ ​from​ ​6:00​ ​–​ ​8:00​ ​PM,​ ​Thursday, November​ ​9,​ ​2017​ ​at​ ​Bass-Cauthen​ ​Funeral​ ​Home.​ ​Full​ ​Military​ ​Honors will​ ​be​ ​rendered​ ​by​ ​the​ ​US​ ​Navy​ ​at​ ​6:00​ ​PM.​ ​The​ ​family​ ​request​ ​those who​ ​attend​ ​services​ ​to​ ​wear​ ​casual​ ​orange​ ​and​ ​purple​ ​to​ ​honor​ ​Amanda’s love​ ​of​ ​Clemson​ ​University.

The​ ​family​ ​would​ ​like​ ​to​ ​extend​ ​their​ ​sincere​ ​appreciation​ ​to​ ​her​ ​close friend,​ ​FC3​ ​Gordon,​ ​Kira​ ​Lynn​ ​who​ ​Amanda​ ​spoke​ ​so​ ​highly​ ​of.
